Blanket orders
Blanket Orders are orders made by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) for the purpose of providing exemptive relief to a class of persons or companies, trades, intended trades, securities or derivatives from any requirement of Ontario securities law on such terms or conditions as may be set out in the order.
The OSC may make Blanket Orders on its own initiative or on application by an interested person or company where it considers that it would not be prejudicial to the public interest to do so.
Blanket Orders are effective for a maximum period of 18 months, unless they are extended by the Commission for a further period of up to 18 months.
