Email blast – National Registration Database – Updated external guide for dual registered firms
Dear Ultimate Designated Person and/or Chief Compliance Officer,
This communication provides information regarding applications to become registered as both an investment dealer and a mutual fund dealer (a dual registered firm).
The Canadian Securities Administrators has prepared an updated Dual Registered Firm Guide to assist firms and new applicants, who wish to become registered as dual registered firms, with the application process. The guide focuses primarily on the filing obligations associated with National Instrument 33-109 Registration Information and its associated forms on the National Registration Database.
This guide replaces the first guide sent to you on December 8, 2022, which is now withdrawn.
If you have any questions or are interested in applying for registration as a dual registered firm, please contact your principal regulator and the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO).
Steps associated with becoming a dual registered Member Firm with CIRO can be found here.
Thank you,
Compliance and Registrant Regulation Staff
