Final Amendment (effective June 19, 1999): Simplified Prospectus Qualification System for Mutual Funds [Including National Policy Statement No. 36 and National Policy Statement No. 39] - Notice of Amendment to Rule Under the Securities Act

On June 4, 1999, the Minister of Finance approved an amendment to the following rulefor the purpose of extending its expiration date from July 1, 1999 to July 1, 2000:

1. In the Matter of a Simplified Prospectus Qualification System for Mutual Funds(1997), 20 OSCB 1220 [including National Policy Statement No. 36 and NationalPolicy Statement No. 39].

On June 4, 1999, the Minister of Finance approved amendments to the following rulesfor the purpose of extending their expiration dates from July 1, 1999 to July 1, 2001:

1. In the Matter of Certain Trades in Securities of Junior Resource Issuers (1997),20 OSCB 1218;

2. Blanket Permission - International Offerings made by way of Private Placementin Ontario - Subsection 38(3) of the Securities Act (Ontario) (1997), 20 OSCB1219, as amended by (1998), 21 OSCB 4211; and

3. In the Matter of Regulation 1015, R.R.O. 1990, as amended and In the Matter ofCertain International Offerings by Private Placement in Ontario (1997), 20 OSCB1219, as amended by (1998), 21 OSCB 4211.

The amendments to the rules came into force on June 19, 1999.

The amendments to the rules are published in Chapter 5 of the Bulletin.

1.1 Amendment - The Rule entitled In the Matter of a Simplified ProspectusQualification System for Mutual Funds [including National Policy Statement No.36 and National Policy Statement No. 39] is amended by deleting "July 1, 1999"in the last sentence and replacing it with "July 1, 2000".
